Thyroid WTFWTF part 3

Since I am such a good patient to myself, I went ahead and called to ask for copies of the blood work from my regular OB and the RE so I can give those to the endocrinologist I am seeing next Wednesday. However, when I picked up the lab tests from the RE, the results were NOT 2.3 for tsh but were 1.71. So, everyone together now, WTF?

No, I didn't misunderstand the nurse when she called yesterday and told me 2.3. I wrote as she talked. 2.3 is not 1.71.

Also, I got the result of the prolactin test and it is 14.6.

So who knows what's what. I know I should call and ask WTF, but I am seriously over it. I have spent a good deal of time thinking about this whole situation. I'm just going to proceed with the endocrinologist appointment next week and hopefully someone can tell me WTF.

WTF? Seriously, that's an understatement!

I know. I am still feeling a bit dumbfounded about it.

Hmm. I can't remember if it was you I mentioned this to, but I wold recommend getting the full thyroid panel done at the same time, because the numbers on their own tell less of a story than how they relate to each other. So, FSH plus T3 plus REVERSE T3 (this is really important and not many doctors routinely order it so you have to ask).

Good luck getting some answers!

I second the thyroid panel, which I'm sure the endocrinologist will do. He/she will be able to fully assess your situation and give you the best information. Sorry you are not getting straight answers. It can't hurt to cover your bases and see the endo anyway so I think it's great that you are still planning to have that appointment!!

What the french toast? Hopefully the endo will give you a straight answer. Weird . . .

I think you deserve an explanation for the wrong numbers being provided and a thyroid panel is not a bad idea. You deserve answers, go get them!
